'Hope For Haiti' Telethon Takes Over TV Sets, Heavyweight Artists Put On A Show "Hope For Haiti," a two-hour telethon broadcast over 25 networks, took over millions of televisions on Friday evening (January) to help in raising much needed money for the country's earthquake relief fund.
While it's still unknown how much was raised during the show, the phone lines remain open and the night's musical performances are up for sale on iTunes.
Update: the telethon raised $57 million.

Album Charts: NY Band Vampire Weekend At #1, Omarion Earns Top 20 Debut While this week's top slot was taken by a New York band called Vampire Weekend, followed by Susan Boyle and Ke$ha, the usual suspects continue to hold down the top 10 spots of the week.
Aside from the no. 1 spot, the second highest debut this week comes from Omarion, whose new album Ollusion opens at no. 19 with 19,000 copies sold.

Jay-Z, Bono, Others Join Forces From All Over The World For ‘Hope for Haiti’ Telethon Earlier this week, Jay-Z and Bono revealed that they collaborated on a track for Haiti, and now Jay has joined a list of a-list artists who will perform at a telethon, dubbed "Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief."
