Born and raised in east Oakland, CA, DJ BackSide has been makin� moves in music since January 2002 when she first began playin� around on the 1�s and 2�s at a college radio station in Southern California. In the early days she learned a lot of her skills via trial and error during her 2 A.M.- 5 A.M time slot. After graduating college in 2003 (Williams College, MA), Where Backside had quickly became one of the hottest, popular DJs on campus, BackSide returned to her hometown of Oakland and started spinning in some of the hottest clubs in the Bay Area. In addition to providing the hottest mixes in the clubs and in the streets, it�s BackSide�s talent on the microphone that truly keep the party hype!

In August, 2005 BackSide brought those skills to the international scene when she performed at The Ministry of Sound in Taipei, Taiwan. BackSide also graced 2 popular clubs in Germany�s capitol city of Stuttgart (Club Proton and Diva Palace) in December 2005, each of these events had over 2,500 people in attendance and allowed BackSide to take her game to a whole new level. BackSide�s been busy outside the clubs too, putting out 16 mixtapes of her own since the beginning of her career. The most acclaimed are her �Got Bay?� Series of Mixtapes. The Bay Area has its own flavor and hustle and BackSide captures all of that in her �Got Bay?� Mixtapes which features strictly the hottest Bay Area hits and freestyles.
