The future of Hip Hop is looking bright. There's tons of new talent out there. I love it.
I notice something very interesting. There's tons of material coming from the mid west, PA, FL, GA, AFRICA (wow), UK, GERM, all over the world, ...but I can count on one hand the material that has come in from New York.
I find this interesting because when I'm in the City, cashing a check, shining a shone, or negotiating, there's tons of artist everywhere. Rappers wit all sorts of game and rhetoric wanting you to buy there cd. I show love sometimes and spaz on the rappers that talk shit when you don't buy nothing. But none the less it's hip hop at it's finest. But when it comes to the digital aspect, New York does not exist.
This year hands down you have to give it the New Orleans for creating a Lil Wayne, and a GA for creating a Young Jeezy, and can't forget the CHI for Kanye West.
Yes, the future of Hip Hop is New York's birth right, but the Future of Hip Hop rest in the South. WOW. Reality is reality. Numbers don't lie.
What's your take on this? |
